Walls....

Yikers....this was a challenge!!!

The walls are called SIP Panels....Structural Insulated Panel...the walls were ordered from a PA company that has a plant just across the boarder in Ohio...the Panels were delivered on two semis stacked as tall as they were allowed...in total there were about 100 panels...each panel had an exact location that it had to be installed...this took some strength and thought at the same time....John Hostetler is my contractor (more on him later) he and his crew of 3 are beasts...It took a solid week of heavy lifting to get this part of the project done...we encountered snow a couple of times which slowed us down a little but not enough to miss a day....Once the walls were up we had to brace the walls for putting those monster trusses on!!! When the bracing was on it made the building look like a medieval castle...Thankfully, the bracing was great because we got some bad wind one night 50+mph gusts and everything was still standing the next morning!! As the walls went up I started questioning if the building was big enough, was it tall enough, could we get everything inside that we wanted, etc....In the back of mind I know there was plenty of room after all I have been thinking about this since I was 10!!!
